Remote Conversation Club: So You Want to be An Activist?!
Time & Location
About The Event
Right now, perhaps more than ever, we are thinking about how to create an inclusive community. Our mission here at The Camaraderie has always been to create a space where everyone feels loved and accepted for being exactly who they are.
Many of you may be seeking opportunities to advocate actively for a more equitable world.
In this session, we're thrilled to bring together two activists, Lauren Rowello and Tonya Russell, in conversation about how to begin, sustain, and grow your activist journey. They will speak about their experiences and tangible tools that you can use to bring out your inner activist in the spaces that speak to you most.
Lauren Rowello is interested in sharing stories of authenticity and resistance. Her work is featured in HuffPost, Vice, Scary Mommy, GO Magazine, and elsewhere. She is a writer, educator, and activist in the Philadelphia area who is often reporting and reflecting on experiences of queer identity, parenthood, sex work, and mental health concerns.
Tonya Russell is a freelance journalist covering mental health, culture, and wellness. She resides in the Philadelphia area with her fiancé and four fur babies. Her words have been featured in Vice, Health.com, The New York Times, and the Washington Post.
