Little Island Dance Festival: Love Movement

Join The Camaraderie as we enjoy a special night out attending one of Little Island's premiere cultural offerings, LOVE MOVEMENT by Barkha Patel and Michela Marino Lerman -  an exciting performance as part of the Little Island Dance Festival!

We'll meet at a nearby bar to unwind after the workday with a refreshing beverage and then head over to Little Island together as a group to take our seats for the show!

Barkha Patel and Michela Marino Lerman helm this enthralling evening of percussive dance. Kathak dancer, choreographer, educator, and Artistic Director of Barkha Dance Company, Barkha Patel creates artistic works that are rhythmically intricate and shares stories, which reverberate themes of suppression, transformation, and empowerment. Michela Marino Lerman is a tap dance artist, choreographer, educator, and has been hailed by the Huffington Post as a “hurricane of rhythm.” The NY Times has called her both a “prodigy” and has described her dancing as “flashes of brilliance.” Michela will be joined by her band, Love Movement.

Little Island is a new, free public park pier within the larger Hudson River Park, that was opened to the public on May 21, 2021 and provids New Yorkers and visitors from around the world with a unique green space unlike any other in New York City. Components of the pier, nestled among more than 350 species of flowers, trees and shrubs, include a 687-seat amphitheater and an intimate stage and lawn space, along with dazzling views of other portions of Hudson River Park, New York City and the Hudson River.

Open to all women and first timers are encouraged. 

Our events are 100% friendly and welcoming, specifically designed for ladies to attend alone and without knowing anyone prior!
