An Everywoman’s Memoir Writing Workshop

Join The Camaraderie for a memoir writing workshop for women with any level of curiosity or desire for documenting their experiences, whether it be to preserve for generations of family to come or to publish and share your story with the world. 

Memoir writing is a powerful tool for introspection, and in this workshop we'll help you discover how the art of storytelling can reveal personal insights, uncover surprising connections and cast you as the creator of your own life.

No prior writing experience is required and all beginners are welcome. 

Led by Writer, Director, Producer Bree O'Connor, experienced writers will find opportunities to further hone their craft, explore advanced techniques, and receive personalized guidance to elevate their writing to new heights.

With over three decades of experience in the theatrical realm, Bree O'Connor is a seasoned artistic entrepreneur with a diverse skill set spanning writing, acting, directing, production design, and fabrication.

Bree is a longtime leader of writers workshops and she prioritizes the development of new work that thrives on the collective vision emerging from artistic collaboration. She values responsiveness and flexibility, allowing the creative process to evolve organically within the company of artists, and this is the foundation of her theatre company, Playful Substance. 

Bree possesses an innate and keen interest in human nature, often exploring complex themes with humor and irreverence. As a writer, her projects center around nagging questions or curiosities about humanity and existence, and she often creates characters to help with the exploration of those questions.

O'Connor's design work is characterized by whimsy and practicality, often ingeniously solving challenges with unrivaled resourcefulness. From crafting intricate costumes using found items to devising innovative stage props, Bree works imagination-first and approaches each project as a problem solver, embracing the collaborative atmosphere to turn mishaps into valuable discoveries.

Open to all women and first timers are encouraged. 

Our events are 100% friendly and welcoming, specifically designed for ladies to attend alone and without knowing anyone prior!

Registration includes admission to the Memoir Writing Workshop, light refreshments and admin fees.
