About The Event

Join The Camaraderie as we enjoy a beautiful day out, on Governors Island!

We'll take the ferry to the island together and stroll through a wonderful artisan maker's market, taking in all the fabulous sights and sounds. Then we will settle in for a special live orchestral concert as we dig in to a BYO picnic.

The Artisan's Market:

The FAD Market features a rotating lineup of over 30 of the city's best emerging makers, designers, artists, and small businesses each month, browse one-of-a-kind handcrafted jewelry, art, apparel, bath and body care, tableware, home furnishings, and more.

The Live Orchestral Concert:

Alarm Will Sound is a 20-member band committed to innovative performances and recordings of today’s music. They have established a reputation for performing demanding music with energetic skill.

Their performance, Ten Thousand Birds by John Luther Adams, is based on the songs of birds that are native to, or migrate through the American northeast and midwest. It explores the connections between nature and music and is inspired by particular birdsongs, captured in minute detail. Adams writes: “In this music, time is not measured. Each page in the score will be its own self-contained world that occupies its own physical space and its own time.”

Alarm Will Sound’s 70-minute interpretation follows the cycle of a day, starting with bird songs heard in the morning, then afternoon, evening, night, and return to morning.

Open to all women and first timers are encouraged.

Our events are 100% friendly and welcoming, specifically designed for ladies to attend alone and without knowing anyone prior!

Places are limited. Advanced registration is required.
